Boat and yacht care on Oʻahu

Your boat, looked after.

Monthly care, detailing, repairs and instruction on Oʻahu, from the USCG-licensed captain who owns the company.

Sailboats and powerboats in their slips at the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor on a clear day, Honolulu towers behind.

I keep boats ready to use at Ala Wai, Keʻehi, Hawaiʻi Kai and Ko Olina. Some owners sail every weekend and want the salt gone by Monday; some are off-island for months and want to know the bilge is dry without flying home to look. Both get the same thing from me: scheduled eyes on the boat, and a photo report in your hands the day I was aboard.

The plans, side by side

Each plan contains the one before it, and every one of them starts with me walking your dock. Plans are month to month and bill on the 1st. Cancel anytime.

The skipper add-on puts me at your helm when the boat has to move and you cannot be aboard. Deliveries between harbors, yard runs, a day on the water with your family: $275 half day, $525 full day.

Plan prices cover boats to 45 ft. 46–65 ft adds 25 percent. Over 65 ft is quoted.

The free dock check

Twenty minutes at your slip, free, and it starts with one text: the harbor and the slip number. I meet you at the dock or go alone with your OK, look at the lines, shore power, the bilge and the growth on the bottom, and send a photo report by text or email the same day. If the boat is fine, I say so and leave it at that.

A dock line coiled and cleated off on a galvanized cleat, low sun on worn dock boards.

Where I work

Four harbors on a weekly round, and the Ala Wai is home.

  • Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor The largest small-boat harbor in the state: about 700 slips at the edge of Waikīkī, and my home dock.
  • Keʻehi Small Boat Harbor Working slips and a broad mooring field in the lagoon off Sand Island. Quiet water, honest boats.
  • Hawaiʻi Kai / Koko Marina East-side slips on Maunalua Bay, under Koko Head.
  • Ko Olina Marina Deep slips and long sunsets on the leeward side.

Run by the owner

Honolulu Yacht Management is owned and run by me, Rich Riley, USCG-licensed captain. One point of contact: the person who answers the phone is the person on your dock.
